Highway Department

Mission

The Highway Department is responsible for all Town road maintenance in Charlton; 45 center-line miles (meaning 90 true miles).  We also maintain bridges, drainage, resurfacing programs, trees, and winter snow and ice removal.

 On Tuesday September 19th, the Charlton Highway Dept will be paving Vines Road, Meadowbrook Lane, Oak Lane and Crawford Dr. These roads will be closed during the paving which means no parking on the road or within four feet of the pavement. Deliveries will not be allowed and any work requiring use of the road will need to be rescheduled (lawn services, construction, etc.) School buses will run as usual. Paving will begin on Meadowbrook/Crawford and then move to Vines.
