Special Meeting Minutes
December 15, 2008
The Town
Board of the Town of Charlton held a Special Meeting on Monday, December 15,
2008, at 6:00pm at Town Hall, 784 Charlton Road, Charlton, N.Y.
Present:
Councilman Salisbury, Councilman Verola, Councilman Lippiello, Supervisor
Grattidge, Town Clerk Brenda Mills, Attorney VanVranken, Janine Caruso.
Absent:
Bruce Gardner
The meeting
was called to order at 6:00pm by Supervisor Grattidge.
The Board
received an e-mail from Highway Superintendent Mike Emerich that one of the
Department’s employees will be out of work due to an injury at home. Mr. Emerich would like to hire a temporary
worker until the employee returns.
A motion was made by Councilman
Lippiello and seconded by Councilman Verola that Resolution # 121 - A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE APPOINTMENT OF A
TEMPORARY HIGHWAY EMPLOYEE WITH THE TOWN OF CHARLTON HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT be
approved.

Janine
Caruso of Fiscal Advisors and Marketing, Inc. presented the Board with possible
financing options for the new Highway Department truck, and for the Phase 2
completion of the new Town Hall. For
the truck, she is suggesting paying $31,500 out of the 2009 budget and
obtaining a 5 year Bond Anticipation Note for the $100,000 balance. For the new Town Hall, she is suggesting a
15 year Bond for $600,000.
Resolutions
for the approval of the financing will be voted on at the next Town Board
Meeting on December 29, 2008.
