The Public Hearing of the
Town Board of Charlton, Saratoga County, New York held at 7:00 pm at the
Charlton Town Hall, called to order by Supervisor Grattidge.
Present: Councilman Gardner, Councilman Lippiello,
Councilman Salisbury, Councilman Verola and Supervisor Grattidge;
Others Present: Town Attorney Robert VanVranken, Engineer

read the Legal notice which was published in the official newspaper, The Daily
Gazette. The Legal Notice was placed on
the sign board at the Charlton Town Hall and also on the Charlton Web
site. Legal Notice read:
Notice of Hearing on Tentative Budget
Town of Charlton
Saratoga County, New York
Notice is hereby given that
the tentative budget of the Town of Charlton for the fiscal year beginning
January 2008 has been filed in the office of the Town Clerk at the Charlton
Town Hall, 784 Charlton Road, Charlton, New York, where it is available for
inspection by any interested person during her business hours.
Further notice is hereby
given that the Town Board of the Town of Charlton will meet and review said
tentative budget and hold a public hearing thereon at the Charlton Town Hall,
784 Charlton Road, Charlton, New York at 7:10 P.M. on the 29th day of October
and that at such hearing any town resident may be heard in favor or against any
item or items therein contained.
Pursuant to Section 108 of
the Town Law, the proposed salaries of the following town officers are hereby
specified as follows:

Supervisor $ 8,455.00
Town
Councilman
Four
each at $ 4,773.00
Town
Clerk $26,500.00
Highway Superintendent $46,500.00

Resident Mr. Ostrander
referred to the Preliminary Budget item debt service. Mr. Ostrander stated that in 2007 there was no debt service
indicated and then in 2008, $110,000.00 is indicated. Supervisor Grattidge stated that the debt service is the interest
and payment of the New Town Hall Project.
Since there was no bond taken out this year, there was no debt service
taken.
Everyone was given a change
to speak who wished Supervisor Grattidge adjourned the meeting was adjourned at
7:12pm.
