Environmental Conservation Commission

Mission

The Charlton Environmental Conservation Commission (ECC) is an advisory body on environmental issues to the Town Board and all other town boards and committees. This shall include the review of proposed new Town laws and various planning and zoning applications (i.e. subdivision, site plan, conditional use permit, zoning change, use variance, etc.) to make recommendations on the environmental impacts of such applications and proposals. On occasion, and as directed by the Town Board, the ECC shall analyze and offer recommendations on various environmental issues. The ECC shall also promote activities and provide information that encourages good environmental practices by Town residents and shall act as the interface between the Town and County for environmental issues.

The ECC is a six-member commission appointed by the Town Board. Each member's term is subject to reappointment on a yearly basis.
