Water Rates: $3.40 per thousand, $91.75 yearly minimum for 26,985 gallons
Water District Billing Information:
Water Reading Cards are mailed by April 30th each year. It is a two-part mailing with return postage. If you live in the water district and do not receive a card in the mail to report your meter reading, please call the Water Department at 384-0152, extension 208 to request a card.
An $85.00 penalty is charged for the following two reasons:
1. No card is returned with a reading. (deadline May 25th)
2. The card was received late. (postmarked after May 25th)
Water Bills are mailed June 30th each year and payable until July 31st without penalty. Penalty is assessed on any payment received with a postmark date after July 31st at a rate of 5%.
Water Bills can be paid to Charlton Water District #1 until November 1st. After this date, delinquent water bills are sent to the County to be added to the tax bill for the following year.

The Pump Station located at 163 Stage Road has a power generator that runs every Wednesday at 9:30 AM. Please be assured that it is normal to see smoke coming from the generator when it is operating.
