On January 1, 2011, the Town of Glenville began providing dog control services for the Town of Charlton under a “shared services agreement”. The Dog Control Officer (DCO) is Rick Trzeciak. He can be contacted on his cell phone by calling 365-8271.
When the DCO is unavailable (off duty) to answer the cell phone, the call will go to his voicemail. Your call/complaint will be answered by the DCO as soon as possible when he returns to duty.
If the DCO is unavailable (off duty) and there is an “emergency”, call 911 which will be answered by the Saratoga County Sheriff or call Glenville Police @ 384-3444 which will be answered by their communications staff 24/7. If it is determined from interviewing the caller that it is an emergency and the DCO is needed, their communication personnel will be able to contact the DCO to respond.
The DCO only provides service for dogs. For nuisance wildlife or other animals, if it is an emergency, please contact your local police department. In other instances you may wish to contract a private trapper (please check in the Yellow Pages); or you may wish to call the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. The following is the contact for our County:
New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Region 5 1115 NYD Route 86, P.O. Box 296 Ray Brook, NY 12977-0296 Elizabeth Lowe, Regional Director (518) 897-1211 |
