Beyond the Horizon by Frank J. Lafforthun, Dec 24, 1981 - " ...Veteran of the Revolution. In 1785, he settled on a 100 acre tract, on the west side of Maple Avenue, which extended from Main Street to Packer Road. In 1789 the farm was subdivided. Wilson Northrup owned the south 50 acres, and legend tells us that his house was located at the north end of this tract across the street from the present John Simoni house. Thaddeus Northrup owned the north 50 acres, at that time, but there is no knowledge where his house stood. In 1833, William Packer purchased both tracts, and it is believed that he built the present brick house then. It was one of the few Waterford brick-houses in the area. In 1921, the Clute family purchased this farm. They produced Guernsey milk, and called their dairy the "Maple Avenue Dairy." The John Graves family owned this farm, and while replacing the roofing they removed the chimney-steps, and it now has lost it's Waterford facade. The house, barns, and a few acres, are now owned by the Dr. Edward Calabrese family."
