Thomas Folger 1758-1838 Jeremiah Smith Cemetery Charlton, New York --from Saratogian Oct 1977 200th Anniversary of Saratoga Battlefield Thomas Folger Born in England in 1758, Folger volunteered in the spring of 1775 and was assigned to the company of Captain Thomas Wasson, second Albany County Militia....In1777 he was at Fort George when destroyed by the American Troops, and took part in Schuyler's retreat. He was discharged the day after General Gates arrived at Bemis Heights, his service having expired. He returned home and had been there but two days when he was again ordered out. He was granted a pension by the nation.

Thomas married Abigail FOLGER daughter of Daniel FOLGER in 1785 in Easton,,NY. Abigail was born on 5 Sep 1766 in Nantucket,,New England. She died on 11 Sep 1817. She was buried in Jeremiah Smith Cemetery, Charlton, NY. They had the following children:   2 M i Benjamin FOLGER was born on 28 Oct 1785.   3 M ii Peter FOLGER was born on 12 Mar 1787. He died on 29 Dec 1825. He was buried in Jeremiah Smith Cemetery, Charlton, NY.   4 F iii Mary Rant FOLGER.         Mary married Stephen RAMSEY on 3 Jan 1810.   5 F iv Judith Worth FOLGER was born in 1789. She died on 12 Feb 1860.         Judith married Henry SPENCER Esq. on 21 Sep 1842 in Charlton, Saratoga Co. NY. Henry was born in 1777.   6 M v John Rant FOLGER was born on 8 Oct 1792. He died on 18 Aug 1793.   7 F vi Abigail FOLGER was born on 31 Mar 1794. She died on 14 Nov 1882. She was buried in Manny Corners,Amsterdam,NY.         Abigail married William SHULER on 18 Oct 1825 in Schenectady,Schenectady,NY. William was born about 1804. He died on 23 Dec 1885. He was buried in Manny Corners,Amsterdam,NY.   8 F vii Eliza M. FOLGER was born on 14 Jan 1796. She died on 16 Sep 1852. She was buried in Jeremiah Smith Cemetery, Charlton, NY.         Eliza married Samuel G. GREEN. Samuel was born about 1792.   9 F viii Parmalea Tamison FOLGER was born on 9 May 1798. She died on 12 Sep 1829.         Parmalea married Obadiah ROWLEY on 14 Feb 1822.   10 F ix Maria B. FOLGER was born on 2 Sep 1800. She died on 6 Sep 1876. She was buried in Pine Grove Cemetery, Charlton, NY.         Maria married Joseph LaRue VALENTINE son of Isaac VALENTINE and Annie Marie LARUE. Joseph was born about 1802. He died on 27 Mar 1885 in Charlton, Saratoga Co. NY. He was buried in Pine Grove Cemetery, Charlton, NY.   11 F x Phebe Worth FOLGER was born on 17 Oct 1802. She died on 3 Jun 1848.         Phebe married Joseph Harmon WENDELL son of Ahasuerus WENDELL and Eva PEEK on 1 Oct 1827. Joseph was born on 18 Nov 1805.   12 M xi Seth FOLGER was born in 1805.   13 M xii Harvey FOLGER was born about 1805 in Charlton, Saratoga Co. NY. He died on 17 Jul 1888 in Charlton, Saratoga Co. NY. He was buried in ,Charlton,NY.   14 M xiii Thomas FOLGER III was born on 4 Apr 1807. He died on 10 Sep 1823. He was buried in Jeremiah Smith Cemetery, Charlton, NY.   15 M xiv Daniel D.
