"Next west of Taylor's farm Thomas Brown owned a tract of four hundred and forty acres. He settled there some few years later, probably about the close of the Revolution. This farm was divided among his children". --from Sylvestors
"Thomas served as private, advanced to Lieutenant, and to Captain June 22, 1778, under Colonels Jacobus Van Schoonhove, John Knickerbocker, and Peter Yates, in Albany Co. Militia." --from BHC
"Brown, Thomas I, 1733-1821, Veteran of the Revolution. In 1777 he purchased a 200 acre tract of land on the north side of Charlton Road, and the west side of Peaceable Street. In 1786, he purchased another tract of 106 acres, on the east side of Maple Avenue, north of Main Street. Then again in 1791, he purchased another 200 acre tract of land north of his first purchase. At the first Annual Town Meeting, Thomas Brown was elected to the office of Assessor. Before the first Freehold Church was built, in 1786, the Brown family
attended the Rev. Eliphalet Ball Church, at Ballston Center. " --from Beyond the Horizon
